Election Details

An election is to be held in the Town of Warren on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024. The following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed:

Office Terms

The term for all offices is for two years beginning on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

For Candidates

The first day to circulate nomination papers is December 1, 2023, and the final day for filing nomination papers is 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in the office of the town clerk.

Primary Election

If a primary is necessary, the primary will be held on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024.

Additional Information

Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election.  If you do not have a photo ID you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.

It’s Election Day – Badger Book at the Polls on Vimeo

The Town of Warren purchased Badger Books for the 2024 election cycle. These tablets replace the paper poll books and will increase accuracy and efficiency on election day. Please view the attached link so see more information from the Wisconsin Election Commission. The clerk will have a demonstration set up in the office for anyone to try before coming to the polls in 2024. If you have questions, please call the clerk at 715-749-9013. 


Weed & Fire Notice

NOTICE

TOWN OF WARREN

BURNING PERMIT

            WHEREAS, Section 26.13 (3) of the Wisconsin Statutes states, “Whenever the town board of any town located outside of a fire protection district deems it imprudent to set fires upon any land within the town, they shall post or cause to be posted in five public places in each township in such town, notices which shall be prepared by the department, forbidding the setting of fires therein, and after the posting of such notices, no person shall set any fire upon any land in said town except for warming the person or cooking food, until calling St. Croix County Non-Emergency Dispatch at 715-386-4701.

            WHEREAS, the escape of forest, brush or grass fires is a threat to human life and property and a heavy expense to the taxpayers and township to control,

            BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Board of Warren, that no person shall set any fire upon any land in said Town without calling St. Croix County Non-Emergency Dispatch at 715-386-4701, except when the ground is covered with snow, and except for warming the person, or cooking food.

            BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED, that before setting any fire call St. Croix County Non-Emergency Dispatch at 715-386-4701.

 

NOTICE

TOWN OF WARREN

Destruction of Noxious Weeds

WHEREAS, Section 66.0407(3) of the Wisconsin Statutes states, “Every person shall destroy all noxious weeds on all lands which he shall own, occupy or control.”

 

BE IT RESOLVED by Town of Warren Ordinance Sec. 8-1-3, that each and every person who owns, occupies, or controls land in the Town of Warren must cut or destroy all noxious weeds, which include: Canada thistle, bull thistle, leafy spurge, and field bindweed (Creeping Jenny), at such time and in such manner as shall effectively prevent them from bearing seed, or spreading to adjoining property.

Absentee Notice

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT

2022 general election – November 8, 2022

 

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election.  The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.  

 

TO OBTAIN AN ABSENTEE YOU MUST MAKE A REQUEST IN WRITING:

Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for absentee ballot be sent to you for the election.  You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter, or you may apply for an absentee ballot online at MyVote.wi.gov.  Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature.  You must include a copy of an acceptable form of Photo ID.  You may make application for an absentee ballot by mail, email or in person.

 

THE DEADLINE FOR MAKING APPLICATION TO RECEIVE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT BY MAIL IS 5:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2022 FOR MOST ELECTORS. 

 

Note: Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.

 

You may also request and vote an absentee ballot on or after October 25th in person in the Clerk’s office Monday through Thursday 8 AM to 4 PM and on Friday 8 AM to 12 PM,  or contact the municipal clerk for an appointment.

THE LAST DAY TO VOTE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT IN THE CLERK’S OFFICE IS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH. MOST CLERK’S OFFICES ARE CLOSED ON WEEKENDS, CHECK WITH YOUR CLERK.

 

No in-person absentee voting may occur on the day before the election. If a ballot is received after polls close on November 8th, it cannot be counted.
