February 18 Absentee Notice

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT

2025 SPRING PRIMARY  – FEBRUARY 18, 2025

 

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election.  The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.  

 TO OBTAIN AN ABSENTEE YOU MUST MAKE A REQUEST IN WRITING:

Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for absentee ballot be sent to you for the election.  You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter, or you may apply for an absentee ballot online at MyVote.wi.gov. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature.  You must include a copy of an acceptable form of Photo ID. You may make application for an absentee ballot by mail, email or in person.

THE DEADLINE FOR MAKING APPLICATION TO RECEIVE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT BY MAIL IS 5:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2025 FOR MOST ELECTORS. 

 Note: Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.

You may also request and vote an absentee ballot on or after February 14, 2025 in person in the Clerk’s office by contacting the municipal clerks for an appointment.

THE LAST DAY TO VOTE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT IN THE CLERK’S OFFICE IS FRIDAY FEBRUARY 14, 2025.

 

No in-person absentee voting or voter registration may occur on the day before the election. If a ballot is received after polls close on February 18, it cannot be counted.

Election Details

An election is to be held in the Town of Warren on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025. The following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed:

Office Incumbents

Town Chairman, Geno Hanson

Town Board Supervisor, Grace Marie Hoyer

Town Board Supervisor, Debbie Delander

Office Terms

The term for all offices is for two years beginning on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

For Candidates

The first day to circulate nomination papers is December 1, 2024, and the final day for filing nomination papers is 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in the office of the town clerk.

Primary Election

If a primary is necessary, the primary will be held on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025.

Additional Information – Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election. If you do not have a photo ID you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.
